We tried to experiment with some new events: Texas Hold’Em, Halo 3, and Guitar Hero III; Unfortunately there was not enough participation to host the Halo 3 & Guitar Hero II events but students definitely enjoyed Texas Hold’Em!
Some ACUI regions (able to host gaming tournaments) partnered with Savage Geckos this year. If you’re going to New Orleans, you can expect to see their mobile gaming unit!

Congratulations to all participants, and BIG, BIG “Thank you!” to our event Directors: Rich Renollet, Brian Bowers, and John Potochnik.

I encourage you to join ACUI Region 11’s facebook group entitled ACUI Region 11 so we can notify you about next year’s Recreation, College Bowl and other opportunities. Recreation Tournaments are generally in February, but other opportunities begin in September! There is also a national group for 9-ball, entitled “ACUI 9-ball,” and Table Tennis, entitled (you guessed it) “ACUI Table Tennis.”

If someone at your school is interested in Recreation or College Bowl, please encourage him/her to contact Region 11 Director Beth Bailey at lebailey@k-state.edu. A two-year minimum commitment is required. This is an excellent opportunity for a new professional who’d like work hard, have lots of fun, and learn how to put on a FANTASTIC event. Online training begins in during the summer for both College Bowl and Recreation, so if you’re interested, don’t delay!

Sincerely,
