Are you an undergraduate student who is interested in getting involved with Association of College Unions International (ACUI) on a regional level?
If so, then there is a position currently available on the Region 11 Leadership Team (RLT) that would be perfect for you. The RLT is currently looking for an undergraduate student willing to take on the role of the I-LEAD (Institute for Leadership Education and Development) student representative.
This student would help recruit other fellow undergraduate students to participate in the summer leadership institute that ACUI hosts every year in Bloomington Indiana. The I-LEAD representative will be primarily responsible for marketing Region 11’s I-LEAD scholarship opportunities—developing and updating the marketing materials for the scholarship, updating and organizing all of the application materials, and serving on the selection committee to decide the scholarship winners. He/she will also help to select and transition the next I-LEAD representative after his/her term is served (each term is 1 year).
To be considered for the position you must meet the following requirements:
- Must be an undergraduate student at a Region 11 University (in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Missouri or Kansas)
- Must acquire institutional support
- Should be able to allot 2 hours per week to the team (sometimes more in the spring semester and less in the fall).
- Must be able to attend the RLT yearly meeting (occurs in the later part of May), and must be available for 2-3 conference calls during the year (each lasting 1.5 hours).
- Although it is not a requirement, it would be best if the candidate attended I-LEAD or had a general knowledge of the program.
If interested, please contact Jennifer Powell, at jpowell23@gmail.com or 309-721-5261, for more information or with any questions. In order to be considered for the position, please send an updated resume. The deadline to apply is August 10, 2008.
